H. de Vere Stacpoole (1863–1951) was an Irish author and physician best known for his romantic adventure novel The Blue Lagoon (1908), a story that became a literary and cinematic classic. Born in Kingstown (now Dún Laoghaire), Ireland, he was educated in England and France and trained as a doctor in Charing Cross Hospital, London.
